QS-DEPENDENT VIRULENCE REGULATION IN PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA Krestetska S.L., Nesterenko A.M. QS-DEPENDENT VIRULENCE REGULATION IN PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA Krestetska S.L., Nesterenko A.M. The
discovery of the cell-to-cell communication in the bacterial
populations led to the understanding that prokaryotes are capable of
coordinated activity. That facilitates development of a very attractive
field of research, within which exists ability to reveal fundamentally
new patterns that control course of events during bacterial infection,
and, appropriately, preconditions for development of new therapeutical
approaches also exists. For the recent years different kinds of quorum
sensing systems, that support the perception of population quantitative
conditions and ensure its application for synchronisation of the
certain gene expression, were described in different species of
microorganisms. One of the most studied objects is P.aeruginosa. Its
adaptive potential provides the ability to exist in different
environmental conditions, to infect a wide range of the organisms (from
Protozoa to Homo sapiens) and to modulate population behaviour
aggressiveness in compliance with its suitability degree.
Keywords: bacterial populations, cell-to-cell communication, quorum sensing, P.aeruginosa |

of bacteria viability determination were considered from the point of
view of opportunity of them surviving in a nonculturable state.
Traditionally, since appearance of microbiology as sciences, methods of
cultivation were and, by and large, remain "the gold standard" for
bacteriologists. However, demands to accuracy and reliability at
detection of pathogenic bacteriums, to determination of their viability
now have considerably increased.

SOME FEATURES OF IMMUNE STATUS UNDER THE IMPACT OF DIFFERENT IONIZING IRRADIATION DOSES Kolyada T.I., Brusnik S.V., Andreeva I.D., Nesterenko A.M., Sherbak O.N., Mikhailichenko M.S. Ionizing
irradiation causes a complex profound metabolic impairment of the
organism, that affects the immune system. The variation of irradiation
dose and its power, as well as the influence of irradiation on the part
of the organism, leads to the specific changes of the immunologic
manifestations. One of the leading causes of the immunological
impairment is the development of the thymic function depression, that
causes deeper changes in the cellular im munity compared to the humoral
immunity.

DETECTION
OF MARKERS OF ACUTE HERPESVIRUS PROCESS, ASSOCIATED WITH HERPES SIMPLEX
AND EPSTEIN-BARR HERPES VIRUSES IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE AND CHRONIC
LARYNGITIS Panchenko L.A., Torianik I.I., Popova N.G., Kandzuba S.I., Popova L.A. Markers of
acute HSV infection (Ig M to HSV) were detected in the blood of 108
patients, including 47.5 % of patients with acute and 26.4 5 % of
patients with chronic laryngitis. Acute EBV infection markers (VCAIg M
and EA-Ig G) were detected in 6 from the 23 (26.6 %) examined patients.
Key words: Herpes simplex virus, Epstein-Barr virus, acute and chronic laryngitis. |

INFLUENCE OF HETEROPOLYNUCLEAR COORDINATE COMPOUNDS OF METALS AND SALTS OF HEAVY METALS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIRAL INFECTION IN PLANTS OF NICOTIANA TABACUM Korniichuk I, Ustyanenko D., Kot T., Kharina A., Polishuk V. The
antiphytoviral activity of heteropolynuclear compounds of metals Í201,
Í399, Í417 and salts of heavy metals on the model system tobacco mosaic
virus (TMV) - Nicotiana tabacum was studied. The substance H417 showed
the largest influence on the TMV infectivity. It inhibited the
infectivity of tobacco mosaic virus for 40%. While studying the main
contents of some complex substances of heavy metals the activity of
NiCl2 × 6H2O was showed. The substance inhibited the development of
callus for 36%.

article presents the results of the study of cytokine status and immune
response of 64 children with rotaviral mixed infection. Investigation
shows that acute period of rotaviral mixed infection accompanied by
reliable increase of interleukines -1b, -4, -6 and tumor necrosis
factor a. In early reconvalescence period the level of these
interleukines stays increased. The immune responce of rotaviral mixed
infection is characterized by decreased level of ÑD3+, ÑD4+, ÑD8+
lymphocytes at the background of physiological level of ÑD14+,
increased level of ÑD19+ during the whole period of the disease,
physiological level of antibodies A, M, G in acute period and increased
level of antibody G in early reconvalescence period. Mathematically
proven fact is children with rotaviral mixed infection has
hypocompensatory variant of operation of immunity.
